There were 21 teams, split up into 3 pool groups. We played six matches against local schools.This was a tournament for Y5/Y6 children, but our Y6 class was not available, so our Y4 and Y5 players had to play against much bigger players. Our team played as hard as they could and were very good at defending, ripping lots of tags off. But the age difference could not be overcome, and we did not win any of our matches. During each match, the referee identified a girl and boy player for each match. Ellie, Dylan and Jack were each awarded the referee’s choice of Player of the Match, during individual matches. Overall, the school award goes to the players who scored our tries and the boys award goes to Dylan, for three tries and Macy for two tries. Well done to the whole team: Ellie, Dane, Jack, Lili-Grayce, Ryan, Dylan, Macie & Jessie.
